Designed specifically for the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus, variant:cascade utilizes the 3D Touch sensor to enhance the artistic experience. By applying varying pressures on the touch screen, users can manipulate both the audio and visual aspects, making the interaction deeply personal. The tactile feedback allows users to draw lines that transform into visually responsive artworks; greater pressure adjusts the width and tempo of the visuals, alongside modifications to the accompanying music. Alternative devices without 3D Touch can still access similar functionalities by altering finger contact intensity on the screen.
The app encourages multi-finger interaction, with each touch affecting the audiovisual output independently, showcasing an intimate dance between user input and algorithmic creativity.
